REMAINS of the CHOZO || Re-learning ZBrush

I must admit, it’s been about 5 years since I last touched ZBrush.

That program is amazing, but you’ve got to admit that it works backwards from all other 3D apps and it has way too many quirks. But I had to tame it again anyways. So I went for some simple fanart to get into the z-groove once more 🙂 . Began with a sphere in ZBrush, then deformed it using dynamesh. Retopology was done there as well. Then some texturing in Substance Designer, rendering in Maya and finally composition in Photoshop. I might print this in 3D!

As you may know, I’m a HUGE Metroid fan. And within that series, the long lost super advanced avian race, the Chozo, intrigue me to no end.

Here’s my rendition to their mysterious statues, waiting patiently through the ages for Samus to arrive and take the items they keep.

Here you can rotate it freely in 3D:

Hope you like it.
