This began as a super silly thing: just typing the year with some cheap effects and make a wallpaper for the computer desktop. And as I grew it became a somewhat more elaborate personal tradition.
10 years since I began this tradition! (the ilustrations are hidden around on the internet. If you follow my digital footprint deep enough you’ll find them, but I’ll refrain from posting most of them here since they’re quite hideous compared to my style and skill nowadays, lol!)
You have a succulent whole new year in front of you. I transformed time into space and made the “2015” numbers into continents. A whole fantastic world to be explored, by YOU! This time the illustration is interactive!
Bellow you’ll find a PDF. It contains the illustration ready to print on a A4 format…. and something else! It’s a journal!
I want you to print out the map and as the year goes by write a “bitácora”, a log, your own adventure exploring the year. Just choose a “country” from the map and assign a month to it. Look at the shapes and colors, think about what happened in your life during that month, choose wisely! And then write about that “land” and what you encountered on it.
Get markers, crayons or just a pencil and draw all over the map! About the monsters and treasures that you found on this amazing world that 2015 is.
By the end of the year you’ll have your own personal epic adventure telling a year in the life… of yourself!
